How do you reduce chargebacks without killing conversions?

This is something I still can’t balance. The stricter the fraud protection, the more legit users get blocked. But if you loosen it, chargebacks spike. It feels like you’re always losing somewhere. Are there any real strategies that work, or is it just constant tweaking and компромиссы?

Chargebacks are one of those things where you’re always trading off something. I had the same issue, tighten fraud rules and you lose good users, relax them and chargebacks go up. What helped me was realizing the problem is not only in detection, but in how well you track and understand transactions afterward. At some point I started looking into https://corefy.com/reconciliations and it changed how I approached this. When you clearly see where mismatches or issues happen, it becomes easier to adjust rules without guessing. It does not eliminate chargebacks, but from my experience having proper reconciliation in place makes decisions way more accurate and less reactive.
