Climate+ Impact Tools, Senior Manager - Textile Exchange
As Climate+ Impact Tools Senior Manager, Sam leads Textile Exchange’s Impact Tools development and engagement with industry stakeholders. At Textile Exchange, Climate+ is the goal of guiding the industry towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions from fiber and raw material production by 45% by 2030. The most important aspect of Climate+ is its interdisciplinary, interconnected approach. It does away with blanket solutions in favor of tailored, targeted strategies for three independent impact areas, soil, biodiversity and water.
Sam started her career at Burberry in Product Development and then in Sustainability and Social Responsibility, where she held roles across environmental and social management and reporting. Her worked spanned the company’s operations, supply chain and communities. Before joining Textile Exchange, Sam held the position of Senior Responsibility Programme Manager at Burberry, where she led ESG strategy update processes and reporting.
During her time at Burberry, Sam was a steering group member of the Global Living Wage Initiative, convened by the Living Wage Foundation, which helps local living wage initiatives get off the ground. Sam also undertook a secondment to Oxfam where she worked with Oxfam GB and Oxfam Italy to establish programmatic monitoring and evaluation systems for multi-year community programmes funded by the Burberry Foundation.
Sam is passionate about securing better outcomes for people and the planet through the fashion and food industries. She aims to do this through her work and with this aim, has supported start-ups in a mentorship and advisory capacity, including Raiz Vertical Farms, From Babies with Love, Vojo, and Good on You - via the Farfetch Dream Assembly Programme.
Sam holds a BSc in Economics and Management, University of Bristol and a PCSB in Sustainable Business, University of Cambridge.
