Marcelo E. Cabrol serves as Chief Strategy Officer at IDB Lab, the innovation and venture arm of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He spearheads the Lab’s strategy to empower entrepreneurs, startups, and venture investors by leveraging technology and early- stage innovation to drive sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean. A key focus of his work is fAIr LAC, an initiative promoting responsible and impactful investment in artificial intelligence to address regional challenges.
With over two decades at the IDB, Marcelo has held leadership roles across multiple sectors, including managing the Social Sector Department (encompassing education, health, and social protection), the Office of External Relations, and the Education Division. His expertise spans operations, business development, strategic partnerships, communications, and organizational transformation, positioning him as a dynamic leader in development innovation.
