Professor - LUISS Guido Carli
Paolo Benanti is a Franciscan of the Third Order Regular (TOR). He has served as a faculty member at the Pontifical Gregorian University since 2008, where he was appointed Professore Straordinario in 2013, specializing in ethics and bioethics. He also holds the chair in the ethics of technology, as well as in the ethics and bioethics of artificial intelligence. His work focuses on ethics, bioethics, and the ethics of technology. More specifically, his research examines the governance of innovation, including the internet and the impact of the Digital Age, biotechnologies for human enhancement and biosafety, and developments in neuroscience and neurotechnology. His scholarly aim is to elucidate the ethical and anthropological significance of technology for Homo sapiens.
