Fiona Melrose joined UniCredit in May 2021 as Head of Group Strategy & Optimisation.
In February 2022, she was appointed Head of Group Strategy and ESG, with oversight over three departments: Group M&A and Corporate Development, Group Strategy & Benchmarking and Group ESG.
As Head of Group ESG, Fiona ensures the implementation, monitoring and execution of ESG strategy across the Group, including the bank’s Net Zero commitments and biodiversity.
Before joining UniCredit, Fiona worked at Bankers without Boundaries – a social enterprise that mobilises private capital to invest in projects that benefit the environment, nature and social good. Prior to this, she held several roles in banking strategy from 2017 and also spent 20 years leading European banks’ equity research teams.
