Danilo Comminiello is an Associate Professor at Sapienza University of Rome. His research focuses on advanced machine learning and neural network models, with a strong emphasis on generative AI, multimodal representation learning, and the synthesis of complex signals such as audio, images, and time series.
He currently serves as Chair of the IEEE Machine Learning for Signal Processing Technical Committee and of the IEEE Task Force on Computational Audio Processing. He is Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems and Area Editor for the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine.
He has organized key conferences including IEEE MLSP 2023 and IJCNN 2025. His teaching activities cover neural networks, generative deep learning, and machine learning for signal processing, with a strong focus on bridging theory and real-world applications of generative models.
