Rok Černe

He leads a 13-member project team at the Slovenia Forest Service, specializing in wildlife translocation and human–wildlife coexistence. Since 2010, he has lead two major LIFE projects -LIFE DINALP BEAR and LIFE Lynx-focused on large carnivore conservation. He has played a key role in designing and implementing LIFE, Interreg, and national conservation initiatives, emphasizing large carnivore, ungulate and forest management.

As Chair of the Alpine Convention’s Large Carnivores, Wild Ungulates and Society Working Group (WISO), he promotes cross-border collaboration and policy development. He also serves as a member of the Wolf Alpine Group and SCALP.
